Feeding the Needy with the Bread of Life

Please pray for a gospel outreach happening this Sunday afternoon, Oct 25th at a local church in the heart of Columbus. My good friend Kevin will be there to feed the hungry with food for their physical bodies as well as spiritual food for their souls. As James 2:14-17 says,

“What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.”

Praise God that He opened the opportunity to help the needy by providing them a full stomach and the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ. I wish I could be there with them, but I was happy to send them a box full of gospel tracts. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will anoint Kevin and the rest of the believers there as they minister to the lost! Thank you!

  1. Thanks so much for your kind and true words Tony. In these days of confusion and unknown. This is the time when True believers need more than ever to be visible. So put on the armor of God like it says in Ephesians 6:10.Get out there and tell folks about the word of God.Have a voice in this time of confusion. Thanks again brother for your encouraging site and love you have shown. God bless always.

  2. I tried to share in detail about the day my Good Shepherd led me to feed a young, homeless man both earthly food, & The Bread of Life!

It was a blessing to be used by God & to see God’s hand in this young person’s eyes following the second simple explanation of the Good News. To observe him light up with a smile & thankfulness to God. HalleluJAH!!!

  3. Amazing grace brought me this week to meet with a young, homeless man, named Jacob. I heard his voice asking me if I would give him a dollar when exiting my car in the parking lot of one of the stores where I was headed to find a few things for my new bed.

I responded, no, follow me & I’ll get you food to nourish you. I told him to get what he wanted, that I’d be upstairs looking in the bedding department. About 30-40 minutes later, he strode up to me downstairs saying he’d been looking for me; he had chosen his food. He had shared about his life & his reasons for not returning to his step mom, etc. I asked questions that opened him up about his religious life. He’d learned a little about the O.T. from his Jewish step mom & some of the N.T. from his mother who’d passed on.

Before saying goodbye, I asked him if he would like prayer. “Yes,” he replied. I repeated the Gospel, then, told him to take my hands & that I’d pray silently first, then would pray. He said, Amen.

His eyes lit up when he thanked me for everything.

When I left, God had blessed me with Joy & peace knowing that because of my obedience, God willing, Jacob would come in the Lord’s perfect timing, to repent & receive Jesus Christ as his Savior & Lord.
