Is the God of the Old Testament Different than the God of the New Testament?

Thank you all for praying for our last Gospel Outreach at the Richwood Flea Market. The Lord greatly blessed our efforts with lots of opportunities to share the glorious gospel of grace with many individuals. The morning was particularly busy, as I was almost non-stop speaking the message of truth to visitors one right after another.

One gentleman named Randy told me that he was a Christian but that six months ago he started watching a YouTube channel that exposed how the God of the Old Testament is different than the God of the New Testament. It was sad to see him stray from the truth that the God of the Bible is one God, from Genesis to Revelation. He is the one and only true God, the Creator God of the universe, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of the Bible whose name is Jesus.

I showed Randy passages that demonstrate that the character of God is the same in both testaments. He is both angry with the wicked and loving toward sinners all throughout the Bible. We turned to Ezekiel 33:11 together and saw that the God of the Old Testament says, “I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?”

We then turned to Romans 2:5 and I showed him that the God of the New Testament says, “But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.” Please pray for Randy, that God’s Word would do its work and be a goad in his life, convicting him of the righteous character of the one and only true God.

Thank you for your prayers and thanks to those volunteers who came out to share the gospel of Jesus with those whom God prepared beforehand to hear the message of Life.
